Hey folks. Oliver here with another security update for you. Today 9/10/14 a list of 5 million Gmail usernames was leaked from a post on the forum BitCoin Security. We will not be linking you to that site. We can tell you that the passwords were included in the original list but that those passwords were scraped from other sites, not Gmail.

it’s important that you all change your Gmail passwords right now.

What that means is the original list has the combination of a Gmail address matched with the password that user created when signing into a third party website using Gmail’s API. So if that password matches their actual email password then their login info is on the net. With over 5 million Gmail accounts being affected it’s important that you all change your Gmail passwords right now.

Remember that even if you don’t use Gmail but use other Google Apps like Google Analytics or Google Drive you still could be at risk and should change your passwords immediately.
